Ben, Linda and the entire Reunion Committee,

Thank you for a most enjoyable Class of 1965 Reunion. I appreciate all the work you did in preparing for our special events. I was especially impressed with your attention to details. All I had to do was show up. Thank you again my friends. With Kindest Personal – Regards, Bill Twitty

“To whomever is receiving this note-thank you for all you did to create the most amazing 24 hours…or so that I can remember! Not only were new memories created, old memories were revisited and enjoyed just as much the second time around. It was worth every minute and then some of our drive down. Thank you.” – With warmest regards, Nancy Trotter Chenevey

“Thank you for all of your hard hard work on our 50th Reunion!!! You are incredible!! It could not have been more fun. Everything was perfect even though some of us looked a lot like our parents. Ha! The club did a beautiful job-delicious dinner & wonderful service. Smitty was fabulous as expected & everyone had a terrific time dancing & reliving our high school days. It was so much fun seeing old friends whether we recognized each other or not. I can’t wait until our 100th Reunion!! Thanks again!” – Blair Rohrer

“What a lovely time… For all of us to have had the honor and good fortune to have shared, there is a remarkable bond that persists beyond temporal and geographic bounds that holds us together, no matter what life has brought to us in the intervening years. This was for me a wonderful weekend of powerful reconnection to people I care about and with whom I shared the best and worst of the sometimes overwhelming process of “growing up” and becoming who we were all meant to be. We can perhaps look back on our lives with a quiet and almost peaceful perspective at this point, and I am very honored to have shared these early, wonderful years with the men and women I reunited with this weekend, and regret only the loss of those friends who could no longer be with us. A profound thank you to those whose hard work made this reunion possible. I would be very grateful if you could forward this message to the rest of the organizing committee so I can thank them as well.” – Warm regards, “Bob” Robert Cunningham

“Hi, all, a quick thanks and hugs for a fantastic weekend. What a journey and accomplishment – congratulations to YOU and so many more for making all this HAPPEN! (This from one who aggressively declines all caps in emails but they are well deserved here.) Coming back to the rat race was a bit daunting – both the 4:30 am wake up call and the wacky client events of today – ugh! (May I please return to high school???) Off to Portland/Corvallis, Oregon; Dallas and DC tomorrow for the next two weeks so I’ll be behind in my thank yous but will catch up in time.” – XOXO, Janis Johnson

“I know there were many who worked very hard to make the reunion a big success. Thanks to all of you. It was wonderful. There was something for all from the Friday night gathering to the activities on Saturday. The luncheon Saturday was a terrific addition. The casual atmosphere gave us time to get to visit with classmates. Frank and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great to get to reconnect with everyone especially some I hadn’t seen in 50 years. I appreciate all that your group did to make this a memorable occasion.” – Mary Alice Steele Fox

“Dear Classmates, Following my return from Charlotte and our 50th class reunion, our city, Paris, was savagely attacked by a small group of terrorists. Still jet-lagged, I went to bed early Friday evening and only learned of the attacks this Saturday morning. Happily, my family and I are well and safe. However, many have been killed and wounded. Our president, François Hollande, has appeared on national television twice to call for calm and national solidarity. This call has been received and echoed by the French people. The nation is standing as one against terrorism. The question is now to define and undertake the actions which will in time put an end to these repeated acts of savagery. The national will has been galvanized. Following mourning and reflection, strong action must be taken. Thank you all again for receiving me so warmly in Charlotte. May I ask you now to pray for France and her people?” – As always, Bob Crane

I still find it hard to believe 50 years have passed.

If a group decides to try to go for another reunion in 5 yrs. please keep me in mind to help from a distance. Thank you all again for a well planned reunion.

Fondly, Sharon Baker

As always, it was so good to see everybody who came and have three different times to enjoy each other – it was “over the top” wonderful, and I’ll never forget that fun weekend! What a blessing to celebrate 50 years of our “tranquil” class of ’65! It was a magical time!
